May 24 marks Aviation Maintenance Technician Day, a national day of recognition chosen to honor Charles Taylor, the original aviation mechanic who built the first successful airplane engine for the Wright brothers’ historic flight. His innovation laid the groundwork for an entire profession that ensures modern aviation safety, reliability, and performance.
